40 patients (28 male and 12 female) with Reiter's syndrome aged from 21 to 47 years were under observation. Urogenital variant of the disease was diagnosed in 85% patients and enterocolitic in 15% of patients. Asymmetric arthritis with predominant impairment of the low extremities was diagnosed in 80% patients, mono or polyarthritis impairment in 20%, conjunctivitis in 70%, sacroiliitis in 55%, tendovaginitis and entesopathy in 40% and keratodermia in 10%. In 65% patients the positive antigen HLA B27 was revealed. All patients underwent standard investigation to study rheumatologic indicators; the Chlamydia antigen and specifíc immunoglobuline to Chlamydia trachomatis and Yersinia enterocolitica were detected. The patients were divided into two groups (20 patients in each), which were equal in all basic parameters. The basic thjerapy for all patients was the same: non-steroid anti-inflammatory drugs, antibiotics, intra-articular injections of prolonged corticosteroids. The patients from the first group received additionally Wobenzym 15 tablets daily. In this group, the clinical improvement and remission were observed earlier; the long-term observation (1 year) showed no recurrence in 95% patients. In the second group, only 75% had no recurrence. A high efficacy of Wobenzym and antibiotic combination therapy should be stressed in etiotropic treatment of urogenital chlamydiosis.
