Adverse effects, contraindication, systemic enzyme therapy drugs in combination with other drugs

Adverse effects

Systemic enzyme therapy drugs are usually tolerated well with no adverse effects having been observed even during long-term administration. Sporadically, a slight change in the consistency, color and odor of the stool may be observed. A sensation of fullness or flatulence and occasional cases of nausea are possible during the high-dose administration. In the event of such symptoms, the administration of this preparation should occur in divided doses to be given over the course of the day. If such symptoms remain even when the dose is divided or even reduced, please, consult your physician or pharmacist. Your physician should also be informed if any unusual reaction occurs.

When is it impossible to take systemic enzyme therapy drugs?

When any allergy to the active or inactive ingredients contained in the drug is known

- In the event of severe inborn or gained blood coagulation disorders (e.g. hemophilia, severe liver impairment, dialyzed patients)

– Like in case of any other drugs, your physician should carefully consider the administration of enzyme drugs in pregnancy and during breast-feeding. The same applies immediately before and after surgeries.

Can systemic enzyme therapy drugs be combined with other drugs?

There are no known incompatibilities of systemic enzyme therapy drugs with other concominantly administered drugs. On the contrary, concurrent administration of enzymes increases the efficacy of treatment in many cases. For example, the increased blood levels of some antibiotics and chemotherapeutics during concurrent administration of enzymes or the reduction in the number and severity of side effects of oncological treatment (chemotherapy, radiotherapy) were observed.

In any case, it is always necessary to consult your physician or pharmacist!
